Meet Our Founder Ben Mammina
Ben Mammina is an experienced licensed architect with a reputation for creative vision and expertise in various project types, including commercial, industrial, custom residential, health care and disaster remediation.
Ben has known from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in architecture. His interest in the field was further developed through his participation in an industrial arts program during junior high, that included drafting classes. This early exposure and education helped him to gain a clearer perspective on the field and set a foundation for his later success as an architect.
Ben worked in various building and constructions jobs before entering the professional architectural industry. His knowledge gained from things like commercial building material sales, to hands on construction are all valued experience that serves him well as a design architect today.
Ben began his career as a design architect at International Design Studio, where he developed design concepts and construction documents for casinos and hotels in the Caribbean and Venezuela, and franchise restaurants throughout the United States.
Because of his experience and skills, Ben was invited to be an adjunct professor at the College of DuPage, where he taught the business of design, architectural design, architectural drafting, color theory, rendering, and design theory.
In the late seventies early eighties, he started to take on larger projects as a design architect at BVM Associates, Inc. Notable projects included the design of 20 Mario Tricoci Hair Salons and Day Spas.
In 1991, Ben was asked to join a committee for Downers Grove Downtown Management Corporation, where he assisted in developing the proposed design direction for all future development.
In the 1990's Ben was involved in several cavalcade of homes in the western suburbs of Chicago, earning several design awards.
In 2008 Ben partnered with longtime friend and architect, Bill DiSanto owner of Englewood Construction, and established BVM Associates LLC. This partnership was successful for 12 years, focusing on “design build” for major nationwide client base.
In 2020 Ben started BVM Design Group LLC, where he provides architectural services across the United States.
With years of experience, Ben demonstrates a keen eye for detail, flexibility with his architectural designs, and a desire to make things convenient, efficient, and fun.
Over Ben’s architectural career he’s worked on a plethora of projects including but not limited to such projects as: Portillos, Al’s Beef, La Coretta Mexican Restaurant, Sante Fe Mexican Restaurant, Pops Beef, Ginos Steak House, Fox Island Apartments, numerous residential projects, Fratellos, The Abbey in Fontana Wisconsin, Grove Dental, Mario Tricoci, White Oak Properties, MRI CAT Imaging Centers, Brandywine Apartments, Midwest Athletic Club, HotWorx, numerous retail centers.
